Teasing The Cat!
Traditional Music from Britain and the Continent
About The Band
Teasing The Cat are a 5-piece band from the South West of England specialising in traditional music from Britain, Europe and Israel for ceilidhs and concerts. The wide range of instruments we play always generates great interest wherever we perform and the diverse musical backgrounds of the individual band members provide a wide-ranging repertoire in a variety of styles from folk to jazz and from Early music to Klezmer.
Mike, Chris and John formed the band in 1990 as a trio, expanding to a five-piece in 1992 with the addition of Steve and Gibby. Over the years we have played at a number of festivals and other events in the UK and in France and we’re very pleased to see that we’ve generated a loyal and dedicated following! The band is also in great demand as a ceilidh band, usually playing for private functions
